Be
a Better Thinker!
America has a plethora of problems.
There’s the out-of-control National Debt, sanctuary cities, unsecured
borders, public schools and universities the Left has transformed into
indoctrination
centers for political correctness and the blaspemous onslaught
of transgenderism. But above all these things, America has a
thinking problem.
Thinking is the gateway to living. Men and women most always live out
what they think. The more one’s thought life is aligned with truth, the
more likely they are to live out that truth, Where there is a truth
vacuum, the result is a godless life void of discernment, wherein lies
become welcome commodities.
The pre-Flood world got itself in trouble with God
through faulty thinking
that led to wicked living. Genesis 6:5: “And GOD saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of
the THOUGHTS of his heart was only evil continually.” Its MORAL problem
was precipitated by a MENTAL problem!
But there was one man who had learned to think the thoughts of
God—Noah. It wasn’t long before God delivered to Noah building plans
for an Ark. For 120 years he and his sons labored away until the day
God said, “Come inside!” God destroyed all those whose wicked thinking
had produced their wicked living.
Paul admonished the Galatians: “For if a man THINK
himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself”
(6:3). He challenged the Philippian church to THINK upon
things true,
things honest, things just, things pure, things lovely, things of good
report, things virtuous, things praiseworthy (Philippians
4:8).
Lastly, the apostle Peter wrote: “Beloved, THINK it not strange
concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange
thing happened unto you” (1 Peter 4:12).
We’re in the midst of New Year's resolution season. Many of us
will
resolve to be better husbands, better wives, better fathers, better
mothers, better eaters, better money mangers and better time managers.
I believe there is NO better resolution that a man or woman can make
entering 2020 than to resolve in his or her heart, with God’s help and
by his grace, to be a better THINKER!
The scriptures are truth. They reveal the mind and will of God. The
more a man
or woman reads and ingests the truth, the more likely he or she is to
THINK the
thoughts of God! And better THINKING always leads to better living!
